The Shampoo Bottle Speaks

This poem was originally a poem that I wrote from an assignment called The _______ Speaks. I had to take an inanimate object and give it a voice through a poem. So I chose a shampoo bottle thinking about what horrors they must see during showers.

The ABUSE, I can’t take
it anymore. It’s not
just the PYHSICAL
ABUSE, but the MENTAL
 as well. The PYHSICAL,
the SLAMING me on the
walls to get the shampoo to
the bottom of my bottle,
the hITTING with your
hand. I will let the
shampoo come to the bottom
easily, if you just ask nicely. But
the MENTAL ABUSE, I
can’t take the NAKED
bodies. I don’t want
to see them. And there are
so many of them. Different
sizes, little humans and
big humans, with different
skin tones. I don’t care
who you are…
I really don’t
want to see any
of it. All I
want is to mind
my own BUSINESS
and not see
YOURS
